Science has proven that all biting insects find their prey by detecting the carbon dioxide flume that is given off when a human, animal, or Mosquito Magnet breathes.  The biting insects are mosquitoes, black flies, minges, no-see-ums, deer flies, and ticks.

The Mosquito Magnet advertises that "The Mosquito Magnet® operates 24/7 by releasing a continuous stream of carbon dioxide (CO2) and scientifically proven attractant to draw mosquitoes to the trap."

Now, Ole Time Woodsman Fly Dope's 1882 formula works by interfering with an insect's ability to detect a carbon dioxide flue.  It has been scientifically proven that certain fragrances will interfere with how a biting insect will find you.

The patch that makes you invisible to mosquitoes. ... A patch will be commercially available next year that can make you undetectable to mosquitoes. It works by interfering with their ability to sense carbon dioxide, which is how they find you.

In 1910, when Obie Sherer was being chased from his favorite fly fishing hole in Maine by a horde of blood sucking black flies, he noticed a Native American sitting by the stream without a biting insect in sight!  It did not take a rocket scientist or access to our modern technology for Obie to connect the dots.  "Smell like the forest and fly fish in peace!"  "If they cannot find you, they cannot bite you!"

Placed correctly on your property I understand that a $750 Mosquito Magnet will draw bugs away from you.  I also know that a few drops of Ole Time Woodsman Fly Dope at $19.95 will make you invisible to all biting insects.  I also can understand why you would not want to carry a Mosquito Magnet around on your next outdoor adventure.

Just took this camping this weekend, put some on a bandana just like when I was a kid. Not a bite! Thank you!
