As the fourth guardian of the treasured 1882 Ole Time Woodsman Fly Dope formula, it amazes me that the World's First and Best Protection Against All Biting Insects is never included in any so-called studies of which is the best insect repellent!
The first batch of Ole Time Woodsman Fly Dope was sold to the foreman of a Maine logging camp in 1910. Since then, it has been a staple in tackle boxes, logging camps, hiking packs, hunter's possible bags, and back yard gardeners pockets. Yet, even after 120 years of protecting outdoor enthusiasts from mosquitoes, black flies, no see ums, chiggers, minges, deer flies, and ticks that no study that I have found ever mentions Ole Time Woodsman Fly Dope!
Even more interesting, science has since proven that certain fragrances will interfere with a biting insect's ability to detect the tell-tale carbon dioxide flume that we emit when we exhale! No other repellent that I know of makes that claim.
Ole Time Woodsman Fly Dope is not sold in stores but is readily available on our website: www.oletimewoodsman.com. And I would gladly donate a bottle for testing. However, there must be a reason why we are ignored?
Just took this camping this weekend, put some on a bandana just like when I was a kid. Not a bite! Thank you!
