According to the Center for Disease control that advocates the use of an insect repellent says: "EEEV is transmitted through the bite of an infected mosquito. Disease transmission does not occur directly from person to person."
So how do you prevent getting bit by a mosquito?
Every time we breathe, we send up a flume of carbon dioxide. To a biting insect this is like a "dinner time" flare that they can detect from over one half of a football field away! Study after study has proven that carbon dioxide is your Enemy Number One when trying to protect yourself from mosquitoes, black flies, no-see-ums, and ticks.
While there is significant evidence that a persons emissions of heat, blood type, and lactic acid makes one more or less susceptible to a mosquito's preference, the fact still remains, "if they cannot find you, they cannot bite you.....or determine if you are a gourmet delight, just a random hamburger joint!"

Back in 1910, Obie Sherer reworked an old 1882 human scent cover used by hunters to develop his own Fly Dope formula. Long story short, a logging camp foreman noticed Obie fishing peaceably and asked to buy some of the stuff. Ole Time Woodsman was born.
