The Real Truth about Insect Repellents!

The Real Truth about Insect Repellents!

Over 100 years ago, Obie Sherer, a devout fly fisherman in Maine discovered what science is now proving:  "Biting insects cannot be repelled, but certain odors can block their receptors which detect carbon dioxide and human skin odors."  A 2013 study by the National Institutes of Health confirmed what we already knew.  Unlike chemical formulas that are used to cover the exposed skin but cannot stop you from exhaling carbon dioxide are not nearly as effective as masking your scent by interfering with an insect's receptors.  "If they cannot find you, they cannot bite you!

Obie Sherer's original Ole Time Woodsman Fly Dope formula is still being bottled in Maine where it all started back in 1910.
